The Text Rain installation collapses the boundaries between physical and virtual space by incorporating the real–time captured images of the viewers within a large-scale interactive virtual interface. Viewers engage with the
installation by interacting with a rain of letters: catching, lifting, and releasing them. If they accumulate letters along their outstretched arms, or along the silhouette of any dark object, the letters assemble to form words or phrase fragments. With active participation, the text of the poem underlying the piece may be gradually reconstructed

About Romy Achituv
Romy Achituv is an Israeli artist who lives and works in Brooklyn, New York. Trained as a sculptor, his projects increasingly encompass a wide range of media, from Photography and Video to Performance and New Media.
Romy’s work lies along the axis connecting formal experimentation with personal expression.
Through his work he seeks to create symbolic structures reflecting upon the medium and beyond.
His videos, installations and experimental applications have been exhibited world wide, from Ars Electronica to MOCA Taipei.
